CHINA – China has been operating an intelligence unit in Cuba for years and upgraded it in 2019 as part of a global effort by Beijing to boost its intelligence-gathering capabilities.

That’s according to a senior U.S White House official.

The Wall Street Journal reporting China has reached a secret deal with Cuba to establish an electronic eavesdropping facility on the island roughly 100 miles (160 km) from Florida, although the White House cast some doubt on the report.
