Cynthia “Mother” Pratt Sworn In As New Governor-General

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was a packed room at Government House Friday morning as well wishers gathered to see Cynthia “Mother” Pratt inducted as the new governor-general of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

She’s also the third woman to hold that post.

Prime Minister Philip Davis signing the royal commission officially appointing Pratt as governor-general of The Bahamas and the Bahamian representative of His Majesty King Charles III.

Then it was time to take the oath of office.

Pratt also sworn in as chancellor of the National Honors Society of The Bahamas, after the conferment of the order of the nation.

Prime Minister Davis congratulating Pratt on the honor while reflecting on her countless contributions to the nation over the years.

In her response, Mother Pratt pledging to give the best of her service to the country in her new role.

Her Excellency was then graced with a royal salute by an all-female guard of honor, comprised of both police and defense force officers, followed by an inspection of the guard.
