NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The United States Embassy’ crime alert is grabbing international headlines as major networks and a British tabloid focused on the country’s crime issues.

The U.S. Department of State issuing a Level 2 Advisory on Friday, urging its citizens to “exercise increased caution” as a result of a crime uptick.

It also came days after the U.S. Embassy in Nassau issued a security alert highlighting murders and gang violence that have rocked the nation.

This morning, Prime Minister Philip Davis expressed disappointment in how the message was communicated.

The prime minister added that the U.S. is doing what any country would.

Director for communications in the Office of The Prime Minister Latrae Rahming also called out The Daily Mail for an article falsely attributing an incident to The Bahamas that happened in Trinidad and Tobago.
