NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors are seeking a sentence in the range of 25 to 30 years for a 46-year-old father convicted of incest.

The man’s name has been withheld to protect the identity of his now 24-year-old daughter.

Prosecutor Terry Archer said the sentence was appropriate given the egregious nature of the case. According to the evidence, the man began sexually molesting his 13-year-old daughter in 2013 soon after his wife and her mother died.

The sexual abuse continued until she was 20 when her younger sister made a report to the police. Justice Renae McKay will deliver her sentencing decision on March 19.
