Two Dead As Beryl Slams Texas, Millions Without Power
SOUTHEAST TEXAS – At least 2 people died as Hurricane Beryl hit Southeast Texas, cutting power for over two million.
SOUTHEAST TEXAS – At least 2 people died as Hurricane Beryl hit Southeast Texas, cutting power for over two million. Initially a category 1 hurricane when it made landfall on Monday, Beryl has been downgraded to a tropical storm.
Officials warn of destructive winds, up to 15 inches of rain, and life-threatening storm surges. Nearly 1,000 flights at Houston’s largest airport were canceled.
Governor Dan Patrick urged residents to take the storm seriously.
Beryl, the first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic season, has already caused significant damage in the Caribbean and Mexico.
