ANTIGUA – Antigua and Barbuda’s Ministry of Education plans a pilot study in January 2025 to test extending school hours for secondary schools.

Two public schools -one large, one small -will trial longer days, initially 2 to 3 days a week, targeting students not in after-school programs.

Depending on results, education officials say the schedule could expand to five days. Secondary schools currently run from 8:00 A.M. To 1:30 P.M.
