UNITED STATES – U.S President Joe Biden has granted presidential clemency to nearly 1,500 people, making it the largest single-day act of its kind in U.S history.

The White House says 39 pardons were issued to individuals with non-violent convictions, while sentences for hundreds in pandemic home confinement were commuted for being too harsh under outdated laws.

This follows his controversial pardon of his son, hunter biden, earlier this month.

Biden highlighted the recipients’ rehabilitation and contributions to their communities, including a military veteran, a COVID nurse, and an addiction counselor.
