NEW YORK, USA – Federal officials sending a drone detection system to New York after mysterious drone sightings disrupted east coast skies.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced a request for help on Sunday, after drones shut down Stewart International Airport for an hour last week.

She’s also calling for congress to give states more power to handle uncrewed aircraft, which have been reported in multiple states, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas confirmed the sightings include drones and manned aircraft, but ruled out foreign involvement.
