GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – We will now shine a spotlight on Grand Bahama’s official Christmas Tree at the Port Lucaya Marketplace, a holiday tradition that attracts hundreds each year.

Adorned in classic red and gold this year, the 40 foot beauty is a must see holiday showstopper. It’s been a beloved Grand Bahamian tradition for decades.

It takes the Port Lucaya team about two weeks to assemble and decorate the festive masterpiece. Marketing manager of the Port Lucaya Marketplace Sciesca Jones shares lots of effort goes into decorating the tree.

The tree lighting ceremony, a highlight of the holiday season on the island features performances from local schools, churches and talented artists.

Recently, the tree even sparked a little holiday competition online during an our news digital exclusive when our news talent from Grand Bahama playfully declared it the best tree in the country outshining the capital’s annual tree in Rawson Square.

Jones, of course agrees.
