NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “Keep close to your roots” is the slogan of Bahamas Botanical, a producer of a variety of alcoholic, non-alcoholic, and cosmetic products using native plants, fruits, and other natural resources.

The vision was conceived 14 years ago by Juan Bacardi, president of Bristol’s Group of Companies. Fast forward to May 9, 2024, we witnessed his vision materialize at the official launch event.

Situated at the rear of Bristol Wines and Spirits on Gladstone Road, the distillery seamlessly merges factory functionality with a lounge ambiance, accentuated by a captivating mural by renowned artist Blank Canvas.

To mark the launch… Bahamas Botanicals introduced its first product – the Jab Cascarilla Amaro.

For an unbiased review, I sampled the drink both straight and mixed.

While consuming it straight wasn’t to my taste, as I tend to favor sweeter beverages, when mixed with a chaser, it was exceptional–refreshing and velvety smooth, almost as if there was no alcohol present.

For your own taste, this locally crafted liqueur is exclusively available at Bristol Wine and Spirits.
