CAT ISLAND , BAHAMAS – Kids In Cat Island got a special treat as The Gift of Giving in Paradise delivered on their goal to get gifts in the hands of every child on Cat Island.

Christmas came early this year for the children of Cat Island, thanks to The Gift of Giving in Paradise, organized by Melissa Allen-Maynard founder of Roots of Change and The Bahamas Artist Movement founder Rowena Poitier-Sutherland.

In the end, there were so many gifts, that on top of the event’s seafaring santa Martin Butler of Bonded Excursions, the mailboat also stepped into help with bringing in additional gifts.

Aliv also partnered with The Gift of Giving in Paradise, donating tablets for all the children at Cat Island’s Children’s Home.

On top of the gifts from the Bahamian people and Corporate Bahamas, Wife of the Prime Minister Anne-Marie Davis visited the children’s home and assisted in planting a breadfruit tree for the children.

The kids also received gifts from Goombay Kids, and in 2023, will have the opportunity to take part in bam performing arts and acting classes.

In the evening, at the Cat Island Christmas tree lighting, all of the pre and primary school children from Arthur’s Town Comprehensive School and Old Bight Primary School received their gifts from the initiative.

A great success, Poitier-Sutherland promises this will be the first of many.
