Five Men Charged In Multi-Million Dollar Drug Bust

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Five men are facing charges in connection to a multimillion dollar seizure of cocaine, marijuana and cocaine.

Michael Sands, Shemar Morgan, Delvano Farquharson, Amard Lewis and Steven Pratt stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on charges of conspiracy to possession drug possession with intent to supply and drug importation.

Acting on information, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant on a home at Albert Town in Long Cay on May 14.

The search allegedly uncovered one thousand, six hundred and fifty pounds of marijuana, valued at $1.9 million, six hundred and eight seven pounds of cocaine, valued at $6.7 million, and ninety-nine bottles of Tucosed, $9,900.

The men denied the charges. Bail was denied for Sands because he was convicted of drug crimes in 2023.

The other accused men were each granted $25,000 bail.

Their trial is set for August 28 through 30.
