GRAND BAHAMA , BAHAMAS – Free National Movement supporters from across Grand Bahama turned out in large numbers at the party’s headquarters on West Atlantic Drive.

Flags waved, pom-poms, chants, and cheers filled the air as the party looked to build momentum heading into the final days of the campaign.

Among the first to address the crowd was Central Grand Bahama candidate Frazette Gibson, who took aim at the Davis administration’s treatment of public servants, while promising better under an FNM government.

“Under the Free National Movement government, salary increases will be applied consistently, negotiated honestly, and paid on time every year, without public servants having to dip into their own pockets just to get the job done.”

Garden Hills candidate Rick Fox used the platform to address a viral video showing a heated exchange with a PLP supporter over tent placement ahead of the advance poll.

“I want to apologize to my family here, or anywhere in The Bahamas, if they are meeting the enforcer, the defender, the facilitator, for the first time. Someone that, for his entire life, has fought for the right to defend his teammates, defend the people he loves, and the country he cares about. That may not be the most desired first impression. I want to apologize to my team, but I also want to thank them for being there.”

East Grand Bahama incumbent Kwasi Thompson also took the stage, questioning claims surrounding the distribution of Crown land.

“Crown land does not belong to the PLP or any political candidate to be given out like candy. Crown land belongs to every single Bahamian. So FNM, in less than two weeks, in 10 days, come May 12, may me and you say bye-bye.”

Party leader Michael Pintard closed the event by criticizing government spending priorities, while pointing to healthcare and emergency response challenges on the Family Islands.

Michael Pintard – Party Leader, Free National Movement

“It is reported that they are spending $250,000 a month, using him and others as a lobby. That is only the amount that you know. And we are hearing this on the eve of an election, in communities across The Bahamas, that the fire engines do not have, ambulances are not available. You heard the story in Exuma. You heard the story in Long Island by Amber. Our families deserve a fair shot at living, but either bled out or died because a simple wound worsened in the absence of an ambulance and the necessary health professionals to intervene.”
