NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The 54th Long Island Regatta is just a week away, taking place in Salt Pond, Long Island from May 31st through June 3rd.
Henderson Burrows, Chairman of the Long Island Regatta Committee, says with energy still high from sailing being announced as the national sport, the regatta has seen a serious boost.
And with just over a week left before the festivities begin, the chairman is giving Our News a sneak peek at the regatta schedule.
He says next Wednesday will have three cup races; serving as a kind of warm up for the sailors before the competition begins on Thursday.
