NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A woman found guilty of bringing a loaded gun inside a police station has accepted her fate.

Annette Johnson, who is serving a sentence of two years and six months, dropped her appeal during a virtual appearance before the Court of Appeal.

Johnson was arrested along with her boyfriend Dino Smith last May after police officers found $8,000 in her car.

While in custody, Johnson asked to use the bathroom.

After she used the bathroom, officers found a .40mm pistol along with 13 rounds of ammunition in the toilet tank.

In her interview, Johnson said her boyfriend gave her the gun to hide after the officers stopped the car.

She said she placed the firearm in her underwear, knowing that the male officers could not search her.

Smith’s conviction was overturned last month after the Court of Appeal ruled the magistrate fell into error by using Johnson’s statement as evidence against him.
