Investors are reportedly spooked by president Trump’s new 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum, which have raised fresh concerns about trade wars and inflation.
Spot gold hit about $2,905 per ounce, while futures closed near $2,934, marking the seventh record high this year.
Some experts are predicting prices could soar to $3,250 or even $3,500.
