PM Spouse: I’m Deeply Concerned, I Get Hurt, I Get Worried

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Missing children and runaway cases continue to be a focus for advocates. Among them was the spouse of the Prime Minister and her team, speaking on the sidelines of the opening of the RBPF’s domestic violence unit earlier this week.

Ann Marie Davis says she’s focused on the uptick of missing children and runaway cases.

Over the past few weeks, flyers sent by police have flooded social media, along with several Marcos Alerts, informing residents of children that have gone missing.

Davis, says she too has noticed the increase.

“I did get a few when I saw the first one I got was the 13 year old girl that went missing I mean my heart just dropped cause i’m like I don’t believe we’re still at this again. Again a lot of things came rushing back to my mind. I’m very deeply concerned i’m hurt and i get worried when I see the Marcos Alert especially for young children .”

And while Davis has given much of her attention, advocating for domestic violence, since her husband, Prime Minister Philip Davis came to office.

Davis says runaways are not something the public should take lightly, adding that there needs to be more resources.

Police statistics from last year show of the 277 missing persons the majority of them in New Providence, 28% were runaways.

Not just that, but 139 of those missing people were minors, making up the vast majority… Cg:

“We’re gonna advocate alot more and speak up as much as we can and raise awareness in all the neighborhoods everywhere go and these missing children missing stop these missing children and keep everyone safe. Awareness has to be about safety in our neighborhoods and communities it’s just paramount right now.”
