NASSAU , BAHAMAS – Food lovers get ready as the flavors are heating up over at the Atlantis Resort where the New Providence Wine & Food Festival is returning this week.
Local vendors are bringing together dishes, drinks, and culinary creativity from around the world.
Among the local favorites returning is Vell Monkey Foot.
It’s their third time returning to the festival, but they’re not the only local eateries set to make an appearance and dish out delicious eats this year.
Chellcy Martin – Catering and Marketing Manager, Vell Monkey Foot
“It has been a really good experience working along side international chefs. You know a lot of locals who haven’t seen us in a bit they come out to the festival and they get to see a different side of us than what we normally have at our restaurant on a daily basis”

“This year we decided to lean in on the seafood angle and we decided to do a Spiny Lobster Taco with we have a special sauce you know its gonna be kinda Asian inspired but with Caribbean flare that we’re known for”
Also adding to the fiesta flavor on Thursday is Solemar, who’s back for their second year.
Executive Chef Felix Gonzales said events like this are a big opportunity for local businesses to connect with visitors and to showcase what Bahamian chefs can whip up in the kitchen.
But he’s not giving everything away, he’s keeping the exact dish they’ll be serving under wraps for now.
He promises it’s something you won’t want to miss.

I will invite you all to come and enjoy what we’re doing I have beautiful tacos flavorful super tasty hand made everything the original way with some Bahamian touch it will be great “
Of course, no food festival would be complete without something sweet.
Putting a creative twist on dessert is a young entrepreneur, who’s bringing treats with a special kick.
“Lee” – Proprietor, Lee Barii
“Im gonna have 3 desserts that I’m gonna be displaying but 2 of them will have tequila inside of it because I love tequila I’m sure you love tequila also so I’m gonna be having a Margarita Cheesecake and I’m also gonna have a Tequila Sunrise Cake and a Peach Cobbler just for those that don’t drink”
With local and international chefs and eateries participating, this year’s festival promises something for every palate.
