NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Supreme Court judge has granted an interim injunction, preventing officials from continuing proceedings to retire Deputy Financial Secretary Athena Marche.

The injunction was granted in the public interest, as Marche challenges the decision to retire her from office.

Marche has filed an application for permission to judicially review the decision, which came after allegations of “performance difficulties and insubordination.”

Justice Leif Farquharson is set to hear Marche’s application for leave next month.
