NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 49-year-old man accused of making defamatory statements about Rowena Sutherland, the head of performing arts at CAPAS, has been granted an absolute discharge.

Sutherland made a criminal complaint against Addis Huyler after he made a Facebook post on August 21 encouraging people not to do business with her because she owed him money.

Sutherland disputed this, saying she was not responsible for the bill.

Huyler admitted to making the offending post at his arraignment before acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans, but the Magistrate did not record a conviction.
