Residents React to Revenue Collection Plan

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There are no increases on the table for value-added tax, custom duties, excise duty, tax rates, and real property taxes according to the budget communication delivered by the prime minister.

But, the PM did say emphasis will be placed on improving tax compliance and enforcement.

Despite this, resident Alex Freeman says he was hoping for a better plan.

This Atlantis worker agrees with the prime minister. She says VAT is high enough.

When it comes to outstanding funds this resident says the rich are those that needs to be targeted and sought after.

This resident is in agreement and also says VAT should be removed altogether from breadbasket items.
