MINNESOTA, USA – BJ Murray hit a home run on Friday night to help his Iowa Cubs get a 10-7 win over the St. Paul saints. But it wasn’t how you expected.

Hitting from the left side of the plate, the third baseman smoked a line drive in the right-center gap in the eight inning.

Cubs future star Owen Caissie was able to score from first base and he was on his horse himself, touching all 4 bases to get the home run.

Hayden Wesneski got the win on the mound in relief taking over in the 4th inning, pitching 3 innings, striking out four.

NPBA

The first game of the NPBA division 1 final went down last night in the Kendall GL Isaacs Gymnasium with the Discount Liquors Rockets taking down the Commonwealth Bank Giants 95-92.

Able Joseph led the way for the Rockets with a near-triple double scoring 25 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 9 assists.

Roosevelt Riley also had 25 and he pounded the glass to the tune of 16 rebounds.

Dylan Musgrove led the giants with 19 points and 5 rebounds and old dependable Michael “Furly” Bain, he’s still at it, he had 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists.

NBA

Kai Jones is getting a fresh start on the west coast. The 6’11” big man from New Providence signed a multi-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, the announcement made earlier today.

Details of the deal are mum at the time of this recording but he is eligible to play immediately and will participate in this year’s playoff run.

Kai just came off a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers where he didn’t play much, but his combination of run-jump athleticism and size are always at a premium in the NBA and the Clippers are looking to make a deep run this year.
