COLOMBIA – In northwest Colombia, the death toll from a devastating landslide has reached 33, with children being the primary victims, according to the vice president.

Rescue operations continue for the 19 injured. The landslide, triggered by heavy rains, struck near Carmen de Atrato, burying a shelter where 60 people sought refuge.

Colombian President Gustavo Preto vowing full support for the Choco region. Anonymous survivors recounted the tragedy, emphasizing the urgent need for aid.
