NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Park Connect is providing free wifi access to communities across New Providence.

While this is a positive step, officials say not everyone is going to use the service for good. Now, they’re urging users to be aware of the dangers.

Hundreds of residents can now access free wifi at several parks across the island.

Director of Information Security at Cable Group of Companies, Shakera Rolle, advises keeping devices updated which will add a layer of protection against hackers, as well as to use secure passwords.

Meanwhile, Manager for the National Computer Incident Response Team, Sametria McKinney stresses that physical security is also of utmost importance.
