NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Calling all creatives. There is a new competition in town and The Star Film Institute is asking you to submit a pitch for the competition.

Organizers say the theatre and film competition was inspired by the life and work of Sir. Sidney Poitier and the mission is to inspire, educate & empower Bahamian playwrights and tv filmmakers.

President of The Star Institute Kerel Pinder says the competition also provides creatives with the opportunity to bring their work to life.

Contestants can apply to be a part of one of 3 categories including: theater, drama or comedy.

Nine finalists will be chosen and they will be provided with the necessary training in funding and filming production prep.
