WASHINGTON DC, USA – The dynamics and divisiveness of American politics were on full display in the U.S. capital last week.

While a traditional democratic district, dc was inundated with mainly conservative republican trump supporters for Inaguration weekend.

Just hours ahead of President Trump’s swearing-in on capital hill thousands of his supporters braved these cold, damp conditions for an opportunity to be a part of the make America great again victory rally.

Some supporters we met stood in line for up to five hours – for an opportunity to get in eager to show their support for the 47th president and hopes for what might be considered radical change.

In the days ahead of this inauguration, protestors also took advantage of the focused attention.

This victory rally crowd didn’t deter this group at all.

By Inauguration Day the momentum was just as powerful among trump supporters. Some waiting in line again, for hours with a last-minute venue change to the Capital One Arena limiting the capacity of the crowd able to witness it.

For many of Trump’s supporters his win is a validation  the majority of Americans want to see this country go in another direction.

Those changes already signaling potential impact for The Bahamas.

These first 100 days in office will hopefully provide some insight into what that really looks like.
