NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On this day in Bahamian history in 1912, Theodore Grant Glover was born in Matthew Town, Inagua. A lifelong educator, his career in the field began when he was 12 years old when he was hired as a monitor at the public school on that island.

The historical society notes that in 1933, he became headmaster at the Colonel Hill Public School in Crooked Island. Five years later he trained at Tuskegee Institute and became headmaster of the school at Roses, Long Island.

He was named Headmaster of Western Senior School in New Providence in 1943 and moved in 1961 to the administrative section of the Board of Education as an acting education officer. Glover served in the department until his retirement in 1972 as deputy director of education.

Glover died on September 5th 1982, but two schools were since named in his honor.

Then fast forward 100 years later in 2022, senators debated and passed amendments to the digital assets and registered exchange act. Attorney General Ryan Pinder hailing the bill as revolutionary.

Also in 2022, Western Air began service from Nassau into Fort Lauderdale. Megan shepherd was on the inaugural flight.
