NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A jury has acquitted a 37-year-old woman accused of having an illicit sexual relationship with a teenage boy.

The court heard that Raquel Williamson, then 36, had sex with the 13-year-old boy at a hotel in New Providence on May 26, 2023.

They had traveled from Andros to New Providence to attend a Progressive Young Liberals conclave.

The court heard that the pair shared a room, where they showered together and had sex.

Between April 23, 2023 and May 6, 2023, Williamson allegedly fondled the boy, kissed and hugged home while at her home in Andros.

The boy’s mother learned about the affair after she allegedly uncovered risqué messages between her son and Williamson while using his phone.

Williamson denied the allegations of unlawful sexual intercourse and indecent assault at her trial before Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson.

She did not take the witness stand, nod did she call any witnesses.

Ryszard Humes represented Williamson.
