NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A jury has acquitted a man of having unlawful with a minor he met online.

Prosecutors alleged that Demetri Pennerman, then 21, had sex with the 15-year-old girl on September 24, 2021.

According to the prosecution’s case, one the day in question, the teen sent Pennerman her location after they had communicated for months online.

He came to her sister’s place in southeastern New Providence and they allegedly had sex on the side of the building.

When questioned by police, Pennerman admitted to kissing and caressing the young woman, but he denied sex took place.

Pennerman was cleared of the charge following a trial before Justice Joyann Ferguson.

He was represented by Keith Seymour.
