Guyana Ministers Home Targeted By Gunfire Weeks After Property Fire

GUYANA – Gunshots were fired outside the home of Guyana’s Public Works Minister, Juan Edghill, on Saturday night. The minister confirmed that his family is safe, though more than 15 shell casings were found at the scene.

Edghill says his wife was in the yard at the time of the incident but was not harmed.

This shooting comes just weeks after a fire, now suspected to be arson, destroyed a church property associated with the minister. Police have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected, but an investigation is underway.
