JAMAICA – British forces are now on the ground in Jamaica, as HMS Trent arrived to help with disaster relief following Hurricane Melissa.

The Royal Navy patrol vessel is deploying a crisis response team to assist wherever needed — after a formal request from the government of Jamaica and the UK’s Foreign Office.

HMS Trent is part of the Atlantic Patrol Tasking mission, stationed in the region to provide humanitarian support and combat drug trafficking.
