CARIBBEAN SEA – Aboard the Love & Harmony Cruise, passengers marked Resurrection Sunday with a special church service held inside the Stardust Theatre on the Norwegian Jewel.

The service was led by Minister Marion Hall, formerly known as Lady Saw, who shared her testimony of spiritual transformation.

Later that evening, harmonizers returned to the theatre for a gospel concert, featuring Minister Hall and Jamaican Gospel singer Carlene Davis.

Davis rose to fame in the 1980s with her hit single “stealing love,” and is recognized as one of Jamaica’s prominent female artists.

However, before the concert, I spoke with with Davis, who revealed at the peak of her career, she was diagnosed with cancer.

“It was my husband who discovered it, we were on tour together. He said what’s this in my breast? And thank god for husbands who are sensitive to these things you know. We immediately went back home to Jamaica, went to the doctor, it was confirmed.”

She says that experience brought her face-to-face with her faith, and changed the course of her life.

“It was at that point when I said I look to God. I said there was my husband, my family, my church, everyone was there for me, but it was an intimate time just between me and God.”

“I prayed to the Lord, and I said Lord I am through with running from you.”

She admits the transition from the secular stage to the pulpit was not easy, but says it was worth it.
