Tourist Man Dies on Junkanoo Beach

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man, who was visiting New Providence and is believed to be in his late forties to early fifties, died on Junkanoo Beach Sunday afternoon.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man, who was visiting New Providence and is believed to be in his late forties to early fifties, died on Junkanoo Beach Sunday afternoon.

Police Press Liaison Officer Chrislyn Skippings confirmed to Our News that foul play was not suspected and that police believe the man died as a result of  medical complications.

A bystander, who wished to remain anonymous, told Our News that she called 911 just before 1:00 pm and

She also believed the tourist suffered from a heart attack.

The bystander also told Our News that when she initially called 911, she was allegedly told that “no ambulances were available at the time.”

When Our News arrived on scene just after 2:30pm, crime scene investigators were on scene while morticians were preparing to remove the body from the beach. 

Our News also understands that family members were with the man when he died.
