Gov’t Launches Rent-To-Own Initiative

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The government is one step closer to solving the housing crisis over on Abaco with the announcement of phase one of its place-to-call home rent-to-own initiative this week.

Housing Minister Jobeth Coleby-Davis telling parliament on Wednesday the goal of the initiative is to provide a sustainable path to homeownership.

Coleby-Davis says a number of models will be used ranging from a two-bedroom, one-bathroom model to a three-bedroom, two-bath model.

She says phase one will be rolled out in Abaco and will initially include five housing units in Spring City.
