NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Inner city youth are getting another chance with a new mentorship program launched today by Roots of Change in conjunction with Atlantis and a number of local corporations.

Called the “Mirror Mirror Mentorship, Arts, Sports and Technology Programme, the initiative seeks to take at-risk youth for a week to be mentored by prominent Bahamian men living here locally and abroad.

Vice President for Roots of Change Rowena Poitier-Sutherland says programmes like this are what’s needed to save the country’s youth.

The program is slated to continue for an additional two years according to organisers.

One of the standout mentors for the program is Bahamian NBA star, Kai Jones.

His mother, who was there to represent him, says they are happy to be a part of the program as she sees her son in many of the young men.
