NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Sixty-six former Urban Renewal employees who were sent home under the former government were compensated last month, according to Labour Director Robert Farquharson.

Following a request made by Minister of Social Services and Urban Renewal Obie Wilchcombe to investigate the matter, an independent investigation was conducted by the Ministry of Labour which determined that the former employees were terminated without any compensation.

Twenty-six of the workers who were dismissed filed trade disputes with the Department of Labour in Grand Bahama.
