NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Thousands of dollars in damages are being reported as a relentless inferno continues to ravage a scrap metal yard on Joe Farrington Road.

The fire has been burning for over 24 hours, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

The blaze, which reportedly ignited after a car explosion, has engulfed piles of discarded metal and debris, emitting thick plumes of smoke.

Nearby businesses, including a vital service station, were forced to close indefinitely.

The blaze began around 10 a.m. Wednesday causing panic all through the nigh for nearby residents and businesses. Rubis service station directly in its path.

According to this store manager, fire fighters stayed overnight to ensure the fire was contained.

Rubis Head Manager is Leonard McPhee gave us a tour of the property.

The rear of the building was significantly damaged. Damages he says will cost a pretty penny to fix.

Threats of the fire still looming, the service station remains without power, forcing its closure and costing thousands of dollars.

As for when they may reopen?
