NASSAU, BAHAMAS – National Security Minister Wayne Munroe says officials are finding ways for victims of sexual crimes to comfortably report the traumatizing incidents.

The move comes as the number of sexual offenses continue to rise, which is cause of concern for authorities.

Alarming 2022 crime statistics, revealed there were 55 rapes reported last year and 139 incidents of unlawful sexual intercourse – an 11 percent increase from 2021 – as more rapes have been reported recently, suspects have been brought before the courts.

Munroe warns against committing sexual crimes as he says convictions can have a lifelong impact.
