Weather System Dumps 23 Inches Of Rain

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nearly two feet of rain water has been dumped on the island of Exuma since Wednesday. That’s according to figures compiled by the Department of Meteorology.

State Minister in the Office of The Prime Minister Myles Laroda, who has responsibility for disaster management, gave a breakdown of the wild weather that has battered Exuma in recent days.

While speaking in Parliament Laroda said Exuma was not the only island impacted.

Laroda says the extensive flooding prompted disaster management officials to activate its emergency plan.
